*~*Chapter 6*~*

About three months later Tara was at the National Competition for singing. She had won at State and now she gets the privilege to go to Washington DC for the competition.

"Momma, do I look okay?" She asked still looking in the mirror.

"You look amazing!" Lainie replied. Tara was wearing a black female pants suit. She looked amazing. It was fitting and very flattering to her figure. She left her hair down and half of it pulled back in a smaller black clamp. Her make-up was done beautifully!

Well, I got into finals and today we have to sing infront of college scouts for music schools...Tara, stay calm---She thought to herself. They were all going to judge her today

She still thinks about Zac a lot and she still loves him. He gets Jake to send Beth cards to give to Tara. He still doesn't know her name and she has only sent 2 cards back. The first one was to say thank you for the cd and that it was flattering. The second one said that she hopes they will see each other again because she is hoping that they are meant to be together. Well, with her music, she has had many offers for colleges and cards. She's keeping them all in a box so when the whole competition thing is over, she will call and talk to people. She's taking this one step at a time.

Zac was in the hotel laying down on his bed when he decided to go out for a walk. They are doing a concert in Washinton DC at the end of the week. They have been here for about 3 days already.

Why can't I stop thinking about her? It's been a little over 3 months and you would think I would have chilled out over her by now. I do really love her and I have to see her again!---Zac thought to himself. He put on his shoes and brushed his hair. He put on a hat and then sunglasses. He went walking around the town.

He got to a building and noticed a lot of cars there and then looked up and saw a sign that says "National Voice Competition." He stood there for a second and decided to go inside.

"Excuse me, you must pay 5 dollars to get in." A lady told him.

"Oh I'm sorry," he replied and reached into his pocket and paid his money.

"Go up the flight of stairs and find a seat in the balcony." She told him. He went up the stairs and found a seat and then on it there was a pair of banoculars that were connected to the seat by a wire so no one could steal it. All the chairs were like that.

He was sitting there listening to all these different people sing Opera songs and he didn't really care for most of them. Then the very last contestant got his attention. They didn't say her name, but she ws #25. She sang Habarena and an orchestra played her music just like everyone else. Her voice sent his chills and butterflies with nervousness.

He took his banoculars and looked through them. He immediately got tears in his eyes and then started crying. "It's my angel! I love her so much!" He said to himself. He couldn't help but cry. He had to make himself stop so he could talk to her after the competition.

When she was done singing everyone stood up, clapped, screamed, cried because of how beautiful her voice is. Zac was crying more than all of them.

He went down to the floor after everyone was done singing. He started looking for her but he never saw her.

"You did great!" Lainie said backstage after she was done singing.

"Thank you," she smiled real big. "I love performing, it's amazing."

"Miss," a guy came up to her and talked to her about college. She explained what she was doing and he completely understood and gave her his card. She can get a scholarship to any college she wants to go to.

Zac looked for her for over 2 hours.

"Excuse me, what are you doing out here? Go back up to the balcony." The security gaurd told him.

"No, I'm looking for one of the contestants." Zac told him.

"And what's the name?" The guy asked him.

"Ang...She is contestant #25." He looked at the big guy.

"Sorry, you have to know the name. Now please, go back to your seat or I will have to escort you out." He told Zac.

"No, you don't understand!" Zac exclaimed. The guy took his arm and brought him outside. And specifically told the lady not to let him back inside. He then went back to the hotel and told his brothers what happened. At 9 that night he went walking.

Three hours after Tara performed, the scores were tallied up and the trophies were ready to give out. They all stood backstage waiting and praying to hear their name called.

"The winner of the Nation Voice Competition is..." The lady paused. "Tara ********!" Everyone screamed and Tara jumped up and down and walked out calmy and was handed her trophy. She lifted it up in the air with tears falling down her voice with a huge smile.

"Thank you!" She said kissing her hand and waving to the crowd.

At around 7 Tara got back to the hotel and she took a shower and sat on the bed with her tobe on staring at her trophy.

I just won the biggest competition in my life and I feel so empty. I wish Zac was here to share my victory. I know for a fact that I would feel complete.---Tara thought to herself. She turned on the cd he made her and pushed repeat.

She put on pair of tight bootcut blue jeans and a long sleeved light pink tight strechy shirt and her running/walking shoes. She put on light yellow fleece sweat shirt and then a black kind of thick wind breaker type jacket from Tommy Hilfiger. She left her hair down and it was finally dry. Tara put on her powder and then her chapstick.

"Momma, I'm going walking. I'll be back later." She told Lainie and stuck a piece of gum in her mouth.

"Be careful and don't talk to strangers, take my cell phone incase of an emergency." She told her daughter and passed out again. Lainie drank a little too much at the party after the competition.
