The Blackpowder BuckI was fortunate to take this fine 8-point buck on opening day of the 2004 Ohio Muzzleloader Season.I had taken a small doe last year with my Thompson Center .45 cal. Hawken and was determined to take a buck with it this year. We had quite the ice and snow storm prior to the muzzleloader opener. Therefore, the conditions for hunting were, to say the least, very noisy! This buck came in at 3:00 pm, and I took the shot at 60 yards. This buck weighed 262# on the hoof! Another Ohio Hog of a Whitetail!
