So you've decided to follow the voices in your head and take the fantastic voyage into the wonderful world that is N.E.R.D..
Basically it breaks down like this...
Pharrell Williams- The lead singer and voice of N.E.R.D.. You can also find him lending his voice on the Co-Ed Remix of Britney Spears' "Boys" and many other songs. Check the Neptunes Productions list.
Chad Hugo- The man behind the keyboards. He creates the music over Pharrell's beats. He also does double duty as a DJ.
Shay- Basically the back-up guy for N.E.R.D.. He does alot of the background rap and spoken word on "In Search Of". He's also not part of the Neptunes.
OK, so what does N.E.R.D. stand for?
N.E.R.D. is an acronym for "No one Ever Really Dies". It is basically based on the age old poetic thesis that as long a certain group or person's stories or songs live on, the person will live on too regardless if they are alive or dead. On a related note, N.E.R.D. is pronounced as an acronym and not pronounced Nerd (like "Gaug is a nerd for putting so much time into this excrement of a site").
Alright so who are the white guys backing N.E.R.D.?
Those guys are a funk-rock group known as Spymob. They are signed to The Neptunes' label StarTrak Entertainment and you should hear more from them soon.
And what about the other people on the album?
The other people featured on the album are fellow StarTrak artists Kelis, Lee Harvey and Pusha T & Malice (Aka The Clipse).

Tons. But you probably wouldn't care. Money always seems to be a a good topic. And FYI, The Neptunes are rolling in the dough. Basically for every track they produce they charge $100,000 or so. So to break it down, the music and beat you hear for "Hot In Herre" probably cost Nelly or his record label $100,000 plus.Try multiplying that by 40 or 50 and it keeps on going.
