OK so this is the part where you learn about the guys in Foo Fighters...so here we go...
Dave Grohl- The brains behind the operations. Dave is the originator and main brain behind the group. He plays drums on the self titled CD and on "The Colour And The Shape", but he is also the lead singer and guitarist in the group. You may also notice him as the former drummer of Nirvana and the on-and-off drummer for Tenacious D and Queens of the Stone Age.
Nate Mendel- The only other original member of the group. Nate's the bassist and also the quietest member of the group. You may also notice that he is a former bassist for Sunny Day Real Estate.
Taylor Hawkins- The drummer and best friend of Dave Grohl. Taylor came around after William Goldsmith quit the group during the "Colour and the Shape" sessions which forced Dave to do all the drumming. If you watch the video for "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morisette you may notice that it is indeed Taylor doing the drumming. Taylor used to be Alanis' touring drummer for her first album.
Chris Shifflet- The newcoming guitarist for the group. He is a former member of the punk group No Use For A Name.
Former Members:
William Goldmsith- The original drummer for the group. He helped mix the first Foo Fighters album and was a touring drummer for it. But his former band Sunny Day Real Estate re-formed and wanted Nate and him back. He decided to leave the Foos for them but Nate decided to stay.
Pat Smear- A former guitarist for Nirvana. He played guitar on the first album and "Colour And The Shape" but due to his reportedly big ego, he left the band.
Franz Stahl- Franz joined when Pat dropped off and toured with the Foo Fighters throughout thier "Colour And The Shape" tour. He became part of the Foos because Dave and him were good friends in one of Dave's older bands known as Scream. Unfortunately Franz didn't fit into the band and left before the band even recorded "There Is Nothing Left To Lose".
