Homeowners Exterior Insurance including Flood Coverage for coastal area (this is the larger amount of the total cost). You are only responsible for content insurance for the interior walls and its contents - quite inexpensive cost per year. I currently pay through Farm Bureau $276 per year.
City Waste/Water Supply Billing (this can be costly if you own a single family home in the area that is in a neighborhood, so this is quite a savings because you will be on a master meter with the city.
All maintenance of the grounds entrance way, streets, signs, mail boxes, elevators, storage areas, landscaping, swimming pool, tennis courts, and dock.
Maintenance of all the exteriors of the homes painting, roofs, exterior lighting, garages, decks. You are only responsible for the care of the interior area of your home.
If you equate these expenses for the maintenance of a single family home, it is equally the same or more. I know I have owned a single-family home in the area. This was more cost effective for me personally.
