Match Report: -

It was a match that France were always going to struggle in and the Danes sealed France's exit out of the competition with a 2-0 win which saw the French sink to the bottom of the group.

Denmark scored their first goal through Rommedahl and from that point on, France looked dead and buried because even Zidane could not repeat tricks and inspire his side.

Denmark finished the job through on-form Tomasson in the 2nd half and that goal seemed to drain France as they have re-written history by being the first team to win the the competition and then get knocked out, 4 years later, without scoring a single goal and earning just one point.

Manager Roger Lemerre admitted that his side deserved to go out as they did not prepare for it at all well.
