Match Report: -
After going behind from a penalty by in form Jon Dahl Tomasson, Senegal hit back to earn a draw against
Denmark. A great finish from Diao into the bottom right hand corner was enough
to secure a point against the Scandinavian team, but later the scorer was sent
off with a rash challenge.
Senegal's impressive unbeaten
run continues and that result meant if France lose to Uruguay, France would be out of the competition.
The Danes nor the Africans could
find a way through for a winner but this is a result which will please Senegal
and maybe put France out at the first hurdle. The Danish coach admitted that
they were slightly lucky with the result and happy with the point as it restores
their lead at the top of group A.
The Senegal coach was also pleased as this leaves his side with a great chance
of qualifying if they avoid defeat against Uruguay.
