Match Report: -
After going behind in the 5th minute, Mexico kicked into action and started to play some good football and it was only a matter of time until they scored. They did just that just before the half hour mark through striker Borgetti.
After the attack which brought the equaliser, Mexico went on the surge again but found no way through and the teams went into the half time break all square.
When the teams re took their positions, it was Mexico who posed the most threat as Ecuador just couldn't keep the ball from them, so it came as no surprise that Mexico took the lead in the 58th minute through Gerrardo Torrado, a great performance from him earned them the win. Ecuador managed to hold on to a 1-2 defeat as Mexico may and perhaps should have scored again.
