A performance by Portugal which showed their true quality and class as hatrick hero Pauleta stole the show with his 3 goals.

Poland can find themselves unlucky by the goal margin but it was always going to be the Portugese who would find it a less daunting task. Dudek in goal stopped what would have been a bit of a humiliation for the Polish side who could count themselves unlucky not to score a goal. But against the quality that Portugal showed, it would be very difficult to come from behind.

It was a much better performance by Portugal as the clean sheet will make up a little bit for the embarassment of the USA match.
