Match Report: -

After the departure of Roy Keane, the Irish picked themselves up and kept all determination as they earned a draw in this match with Cameroon after falling behind through a first half effort from the African striker, Mboma. They went into the interval 1-0 down and so it was Mick McCarthy who delivered a team talk that would lift Irish spirits. Ireland went out in the second half almost a different team and they got what they needed and deserved as they pressed forward, the breakthrough came in the 52nd minute when Matt Holland received the ball outside the box, he drilled in a 25 yard drive into the corner, much to the delight of the Irish management staff, fans and the team. They pressed further looking for a winner but didn't find a way through. When the final whistle came, the Irish were delighted with their achievement.
