Lazio move in for Rivaldo kill

Italian club Lazio have shown considerable interest in Brazilian midfielder Rivaldo, and are prepared to break the transfer record to bring his services to Italy. Lazio know of Barcelona's interest in their midfielder Mendieta and so are hoping to use this in the transfer so that Barcelona are happy to let him go.

Both clubs have been in constant contact with each other, and Lazio chairman Sergio Cragnotti said that they want Rivaldo, and Barcelona want Mendieta They are now waiting to see what the players think of this before anyother agreements go ahead.

Lazio are already a big club and with the addition of Rivaldo, they will look serious title contenders.
