After a goalless 90 minutes, the match went into extra time, and it was no surprise when a goal came from the scorer Mansiz. A clinical finish from Mansiz ensured a place in the last 4 for turkey and it set up a match with favourites, Brazil. Senegal had their chances, as did turkey, most of which falling to Hakan Sukur who had an abysmal game. He missed a hatrick of chances, but fortunately or him, didn't cost Turkey a place in the next round.

Senegal are unlucky as they definitely impressed in their first world cup. A superb effort by the Senegalese.
