PROBATIONARY PERIOD | EXPLORER ACADEMY | ||||||||||
An Explorer will be placed on probation the date the Explorer gains membership approval. The probation time will be for (3) three months from that date. This probation time allows the Explorer to get involved in post functions and activities. This allows the Explorer to receive the required training before the Explorer is allowed to participate in other activities. To successfully complete probation, an Explorer must: A. Participate in 100% of Post meetings. B. Participate in 75% of Post activities such as fundraisers and community service projects. C. Must attend and complete the mandatory 40-hour Explorer Academy held in June of each year. This will allow the Explorer to receive the mandatory 40 hours of training in order to participate in other Explorer functions. |
The Explorer Academy will only be conducted if staffing permits. The academy may be waived and replaced with a modified training schedule during normal meeting times. The Explorer Academy is conducted in the spring and summer after the application process. The academy totals 40 training hours and is held on Saturdays during the spring and on weekdays during the summer. The academy's purpose is to insure that all Explorers receive the proper training and certifications. All Explorers are required to attend and pass the academy, failure to do so may result in an opportunity to attend a remedial academy or a termination from the program.
