Stoka
Stoka is a city at the edge of a large lake toward the north. Some of the city itself has been built over the lake as the entire city contains many tributaries for streets, or canals if you rather. The cobble stone streets are held firm, boardering the waterways filed with personal boats to allow people to travel up and down the water streets. Sidewalks boarder this for those who wish to walk or set up waterside balconies. Obviously there are many bridges that allow people to cross the waterways from one side to another. Some are fairly small, only high enough for the people with personal rowboats to pass by, while bridges over main waterways allow for some of the larger ships in the place that go out on the lake. Many people visit here because of the scenery and the enjoyment of riding the waterways. The houses goes up from one story to three. Many people note that the towns activity is the exact opposite of Bagand due to the frequent tourist and vacation-goers. The people who live here tend to be very good swimmers and often have an annual festival devoted to the water god. One of the events that take place is a large race on the lake where many ships go out so far, and people on the shore participate in a race in which one swims from the sands to the boats and back again. The winner gains five red gems and the title of the Maritime Festival King (or Queen). Due to the size of the lake, many people fish here, however no one goes too far onto the lake even though they could. This allows for more fish to grow and keep the balance in the waters. It's also been noted that many fish swim into the town. Those who swim the minor waterways find this out eventually. Not many are seen swimming the larger waterways, however many preparing for the festival are seen practicing and training throughout the entire town. There are many inns, shops and things to do in this town, however there are only so any Taverns and any new taverns must be approved by the heads of the city. This is to reduce drowning, for people with alcohol in one's system many find it more 'difficult' to swim. Overall, a nice place to visit, and those who live here are often happy due to the negative ions within the flowing water. Many have called this place the "Delusian City of Romance" although Rylloc surpasses this by a long shot. So along with the water god's shrine, one will also find the a temple to the goddess of love here as well.
