The Ruins of Varigal

The ruins lie southwest of Glavor and seem to hold many secrets. It is rumored that giants from the 'old world' Avalon realm still live here in seclusion. It has been noted however, that these beings have been seen around the two mountain towns of Delusa. It's been noted that some people have tried to go to the place but have come back with only glimpses of the enterence. The jagged pathways are ligned with sharp rocks leading down to the ancient remains. The place is filled with fog from the steam that seems to rise from the ground due to the springs. It has also been noted that many of the people who have tried have died due to the soft ground giving way only to fall into boiling pools of water with no way to get out. The bones can be very well seen in these pits along with rusted swords and armor; proven signs of the predecessors who tried their hand at seeking out the place. Only a single path allows a safe passage to the ruins. An underground tunnel clearly big enough for giants to traverse, and along side of it, are even smaller stairs. This pathway was seemingly hidden. Once at the pase however, the pillars of olde are seen piled in masses of rubble. It was also reported that a giante axe that no normal human could even hope to pick up was found under one of these piles of carved stone. The fog also covers over this place as well. the buildings from here are only silhouettes in the distance, adorned in the darkness of the area that seems to always prevail. Upon looking at the stones, carvings have been aparently noticeable, but none recorded. The sounds of blackbirds were well noted, but no signs of the supposed giants. no further investigation has been done due to the fear of never returning from the place already deadly enough without the gargantuous men.
