Thoughts from the mind of the cigar aficionado himself...

9/23---Slipping into depression.

It couldn't have come against another team, could it have?

The Browns had an embarrasing performance in week 2. It was so bad that I didn't even update this site.

What made matters worse was that it came against the FUCKING RAVENS!!!

I was so low about the Browns, it wasn't even funny. I told people I hoped they lost every game for the rest of the year so Randy Lerner would give the whole organization an enema. I had no hope for them. I was counting the days until hockey started. I had flashback feeling of when the Purple Goblins won the Super Bowl three seasons ago.

In case you couldn't tell, I had given up on the Browns. It was the first time in my life I'd ever been ashamed to be a Browns fan.

Then something happened...

I was on vacation from work from 9/14 until 9/20. My boss gave me Sunday off so I could ease into coming back to work. I was hoping he'd put me on the schedule during the day so I wouldn't be tempted to watch. I still told myself I wouldn't watch the game against the 49ers.

But I couldn't resist...

I watched the game. I felt like a fan again. I was hanging on the start of every play.

With the Browns down 12-7 in the 4th quarter, my revelation was completed. I realized that I am a fan of this team no matter what. Even as Kelly Holcomb was picked off by Julian Peterson, I still believed I was a fan again.

You can imagine my joy when the Browns stopped the 49ers and Holcomb engineered a near-flawless drive ending with an amazing touchdown catch by Andre Davis.

Yessir, it's great to be back. Hopefully this game Sunday against the Bengals will get the Browns into a great offensive groove and they'll never look back the rest of the season.

Before I go, did I ever mention how much I hate the Ravens and their hypocritical fans?
