7/31/1932: The Indians play their first game ever at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. They lost 1-0 to the Athletics. The crowd of 80,184 was a record at the time.
7/8/1935: Cleveland Municipal Stadium is the site for the MLB All-Star Game. Representing the Indians were Joe Vosmik and Mel Harder. The AL won 4-1.
10/3/1937: Johnny Allen's 15 game winning streak is snapped in a 1-0 loss to the Tigers.
8/30/1938: Indians catchers Frankie Pytlak and Hank Helf catch balls from the top of Cleveland's Terminal Tower. The drop of the balls was estimated to be 710 feet and they were thrown at an average speed of 140 miles per hour.
10/2/1938: Bob Feller strikes out 18 batters to set an AL record. Despite this, the Indians lose to the Tigers 4-1.
5/16/1939: The Indians beat the Athletics in the AL's first-ever night game by the score of 8-3 in 10 innings.
9/27/1940: The Indians lose to the Tigers 2-0, ending their hopes of winning the pennant. This resulted in Oscar Vitt being fired as manager. The players actually tried to get Vitt fired during the season. The resulted in them being nicknamed the "Cleveland Crybabies."
6/17/1941: Yankees CF Joe DiMaggio has his 56-game hitting streak stopped by the Indians. Ken Keltner, Jim Bagby Jr., and Lou Boudreau made the putouts. The Yankees ended up winning 4-3.
4/29/1931: Wes Ferrell throws a no-hitter in a 9-0 win over the St. Louis Browns.
