7/9/1963: Cleveland Municipal Stadium is the site of the MLB All-Star Game. The NL won 5-3.
7/31/1963: The Indians hit four consecutive home runs in a 9-5 win over the California Angels (now Anaheim). The players who hit them were, in order, Woodie Held, Pedro Ramos, Tito Francona, and Larry Brown.
4/25/1966: Sam McDowell throws a one-hitter in a 2-0 win over the Kansas City Athletics (now Oakland). Six days later in his next start, he throws another one to beat the White Sox 1-0.
6/10/1966: Sonny Seibert throws a no-hitter against the Washington Senators (now Texas Rangers). The Indians win 2-0.
7/3/1968: Luis Tiant records 19 strikeouts as the Indians beat the Twins 1-0.
7/14/1970: At the All-Star Game in Cincinnati, Reds 1B Pete Rose collides with Indians C Ray Fosse while running home. Rose's shoulder nailed Fosse right in the abdomen. Fosse's career never was the same afterwards. The NL ended up winning 5-4.
4/7/1973: In the home opener, the Indians beat the Tigers 2-0. The crowd is an opening-day record of 74,420.
6/4/1974: It's the day of the infamous "Ten-cent Beer Night." The Indians were tied with the Rangers 5-5 in the 9th when many drunken fans stormed the field while out of control. The umpires declared a Rangers victory via forfeit.
4/17/1960: Indians GM Frank Lane trades Rocky Colavito, the team's most popular player, to the Tigers for Harvey Kuenn. To say Indians fans hated this would be an major understatement. The next day, in the Indians' opener against the Tigers, fans would hang an effigy of Lane from the stands.
