7/6/1991: John McNamara is fired as Indians manager. He is replaced by former Tribe 1B Mike Hargrove.
3/22/1993: A tragedy occurs during spring training. While fishing off the coast of Florida, Indians pitchers Tim Crews and Steve Olin are killed after an accidental boat crash. Bob Ojeda, another Tribe pitcher, was also involved, but fortunately managed to survive.
4/8/1993: In the 7th inning of a 15-5 win over the Yankees, Carlos Baerga becomes the first (and to this day only) player ever to hit home runs from both sides of the plate in the same inning.
5/26/1993: Carlos Martinez hits a ball that bounces off the head of Rangers RF Jose Canseco and over the fence for a home run. The Indians ended up winning 7-6.
10/3/1993: The Indians play their last game at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. They end up losing to the White Sox 3-0.
4/4/1994: The Indians play their first game at Jacobs Field. They end up beating the Mariners 4-3 in 11 innings. President Bill Clinton threw the first pitch. Rumor has it that Clinton was asked because people watching his pitching were BLOWN AWAY by it.
8/12/1994: MLB players go on strike, ending the Indians' chance of making the playoffs for the first time in 40 years.
6/30/1995: Eddie Murray gets his 3,000th hit. He hit a single in his second at-bat in a 4-1 win over the Twins in Minnesota
9/8/1995: The Indians beat the Orioles 3-2 to clinch the AL Central Division title and their first playoff appearance since 1954. The Tribe won the AL Central by 30 games.
10/3/1995: Tony Pena hits a home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to give the Indians a 5-4 win over the Red Sox in Game 1 of the Division Series. The Indians ended up sweeping the Red Sox in 3 games.
10/17/1995: The Indians beat the Mariners 4-0 at Seattle in Game 6 of the ALCS, giving them the series win.
10/28/1995: In Atlanta, the Braves beat the Indians 1-0 in Game 6 of the World Series, giving them the series win. Future Indian David Justice's hit a home run of Jim Poole for the games only scoring.
5/2/1996: At Seattle, the Indians/Mariners game is postponed due to an earthquake in the 7th. The game was made up the next day. The Indians ended up winning 5-2.
10/5/1996: Future Indian Roberto Alomar hits a home run in the top of the 9th as the Orioles defeat the Indians 4-3 in Game 4 of the Division Series.
4/25/1997: The Indians hit eight home runs in an 11-4 win against the Brewers in Milwaukee. Three were hit by Matt Williams and two more were hit by David Justice.
6/14/1997: The Indians beat the Cardinals 8-3 in St. Louis. It was their first ever interleague game.
7/8/1997: Jacobs Field is the site of the MLB All-Star Game. The AL won 3-1. Sandy Alomar hit the game-winning home run. Also representing the Indians were Jim Thome and David Justice.
10/6/1997: In Game 5 of the Division Series, Jaret Wright beats the Yankees for the second time in the DS. The Indians won 4-3.
10/15/1997: In Game 6 of the ALCS, the Indians beat the Orioles 1-0 in Baltimore to win the pennant. Tony Fernandez hit a home run in the 12th inning for the game's only score.
10/26/1997: The Indians come withing an eyelash of winning the World Series but end up losing Game 7 to the Marlins 3-2 in Florida.
6/21/1998: Bartolo Colon pitches an 11-0 shutout against the Yankees.
5/7/1999: The Indians beat the Devil Rays 20-11 despite trailing 9-1 at one point.
10/10/1999: In Game 4 of the Division Series at Boston, the Red Sox beat the Indians 23-7. The Red Sox would end up winning the series the next day.
2/15/2000: Larry Dolan purchases the Indians from Richard Jacobs. Welcome to Hell.
7/22/2000: Omar Vizquel's errorless streak comes to an end at 95 games in a 10-6 loss to the Twins at Minnesota.
10/1/2000: The Indians beat the Blue Jays 11-4, keeping their playoff hopes alive. They needed either the Athletics or Mariners to lose later in the day. Both of them won.
4/4/2001: The Indians consecutive sellout streak ends at 455 games in an 8-4 victory over the White Sox. The streak is an MLB record.
8/5/2001: The Indians come back from a 14-2 deficit to beat the Mariners 15-14 in 11 innings. Omar Vizquel's bases loaded triple in the bottom of the 9th forced the game into extra innings.
10/13/2001: In Game 3 of the Division Series, the Indians beat the Mariners 17-2 in their most lopsided playoff win ever. This was also C.C. Sabathia's first playoff appearance. The Mariners would end up winning the series in 5 games.
8/1/1990: Alex Cole steals five bases in a 4-1 win against the Royals.
