Flag DetailFlag Detail is one of the most important activities in R.O.T.C. Flag Detail puts up and takes down the flag everyday with the only exception being when it is raining. This Detail takes alot of skill and perfection. If the flag is ever dropped we would have to have a ceremony to burn the flag. The Commander is a female commander, her name is Bethany Paquet and she has the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Being involved in this activity allows you to wear a cord that is issued to you and signifies that you are in Flag Detail. At the end of the year at the awards banquet you recieve the Flag Detail ribbon.Display and Use of the Flag It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day. A law signed on July 7, 1976, permits the display of an all-weather American Flag day and night, if properly illuminated during hours of darkness. The flag should be hoisted briskly and lowered ceremoniously. It should not be displayed on days when the weather is inclement; except when an all weather flag is displayed. The flag should be displayed daily on or near the main administration building of every public institution.
