Inspection
Inspection is one of the most important aspects of the J.R.O.T.C. program. Inspection not only shows discipline but also how the flight does under pressure when they will be tested on their knowledge, bearing and cleanliness of their uniform. The flight commander will call the flight to "open ranks" which allows the elements(which are usually 4 or 5 elements) to have some room so that they can be seperated from the other elements. The Aerospace Science Instructor will then come up to the flight commander and ask if the flight is ready for inspection and he/she will acknowledge.
The Aerospace Science Instructor will come up to every single cadet in that flight and inspect everything that they are wearing. First he inspects the Flight Commander and the Flight Sergeant to see if they are setting the example by having their uniform in ideal shape so that the flight can follow them. After the ASI(Aerospace Science Instructor) is done inspecting them, he will check the first element leader and ask if his element is ready. He/she will acknowledge. After the ASI is done inspecting him he will move on to the rest of the element and will do the same for the rest of the elements in the flight.
When the inspection is over the ASI will come to the middle of the flight and the flight commander will salute and say "Sir/ma'am the flight has completed inspection and is waiting for further instruction" the ASI will then salute and say how well they have done and what needs to be improved.
