Brain Cleanse I
"The Brain Cleansing I breathing exercise begins in the Turtle sitting position. Sit with the back erect and with the hands resting lightly on the knees. Clasp the thumbs securely between the fingers. In this manner you hold onto the energy in your hands so that it recirculates back into the arms. Allow the eyes to remain closed throughout the exercise.
"Now exhale all of the air from your lungs (without straining) as you assume the Turtle position with the head stretching upward and the shoulders down. Next, gently tilt the head backwards into the second Turtle position and slowly begin to inhale the breath. Imagine in your mind's eye that as the breath enters into the internal chambers of your body it carries with it a boiling steam, fire or white smoke, and that it slowly begins to rise upward from teh abdomen to the head. Imagine that the head completely fills with the visualization so the entire head becomes white. Become so that you cannot think, see or imagine anything but the white smoke, steam of fire which has filled the head.
"When you have completed the inhalation (without straining), then straighten the head and begin to exhale in the first Turtle position. Exhale all the white smoke, steam or fiere out fo the body that the head becomes empty. Imagine as the breath leaves the body, that it carries with it all your worries, tensions, unnecessary thoughts, bad traits such as dishonesty, anger, depression and ills of your mind and body. Imagine also as the smoke leaves your head that it is replaced by a clear clean and beautifully rich blue sky shich leaves no room for worries or unclear thoughts. Then repeat the breathing sequence again as many times as you feel comfortable. Hoever, try to maintain a minimum of seven inhalations and seven exhalations at each sitting.
"At first it may be difficult to coordination the breathing with the visualizations. But with determined and motivated paractice, you will be able to clearly "see" the white smoke as it comes into and leaves your head. Also at first you may not be able to visualize the blude sky, but with patient practice you will be able to develop a very deep and beautiful blue color in your mind's eye. You will then have achieved a very great healing within yourself. The color blue will help to cleanse and purify the mind. If the mind is clear, then your problems will have been eighty percent eliminated.
"It is important to remember to keep the anal muscles contracted while performing the Brain Cleansing exercise as this will lock the energy into the upper chambers of the body and will allow the energy and the smoke visualization to rise up the spine into the brain.
"Negative thoughts are large obstacles which prevent healing from occurring within the body. The Brain Cleansing exercise helps to train the mind to become empty and to put it on an immortal level. Performing this breathing exercise will then be like catching a train as it passes by. The train is oneself and through this exercise the practitioner will be better able to understand his/her true nature. It will help one to come into harmony with teh natural laws of the universe and prepare the mind for the next phase of Immortal Breathing. It will enable one to cast out of his mind limited concepts of wrong thinking and death and lead us to the edges of the Tao where the are no 'isms' or dualistic thoughts, no desires, no diseases, but only complete peace." *
