Being a mechanic is no easy job. It might look like you jus
sit back and relax and wait for a car to come in for an oil change or
something. You must develop a clean and friendly working environment. This will
help bring in business. No one trust a person to work on their car if they look
like a slob, well I know I don’t. The mechanic field is a very fast pace
occupation. There comes a point in time where a person needs to have their car
repaired and so you must be there to offer the best service for the best
price. Everyday there are thousands of
people that need their car repaired. This field of work is great because for as
long as there are cars, this job will always be offered.

Chose This Job
Being a mechanic is a job that I think is very easy because I
already know a lot of stuff about cars. Since I have known my dad he has always
been into cars. As a hobby he buys used cars fixes them and then sells them. My
dad tries to make money out of it but sometimes he loses money most of the time
because the repairs cost more than what the car is sold for. No matter how much
money goes into the cars my dad always manages to even things out because every
once in a while a good car comes up that we can sell for more than we got it
for. Being a mechanic is not really a dream for me but it would most likely be
like a hobby for me. Ever since I was 13 I have been into cars. When I got my
license I began to fix up cars. It is now a new trend that teens are beginning
to do. I see it as my anti-drug. Instead of being at my friends house and smoke
or drink I would rather be at my friend Josh’s house where I can just spend
time and work on my car. Since he has a lift and practically every tool
necessary to work on a car all of us go there to fix our cars
Career
This is not the greatest career choice you can make but it is
a good job if you like and know about cars. The pay would really depend on
supply and demand. You will be there to serve the people and there will only be
business if there is a problem. Now if you just go out and join a shop or
something expect to earn about 10-15 dollars an hour for a good position as a
top mechanic. Nothing is really needed from college except your high school diploma
and proof that you know how to work on cars. Annually expect to earn about 30
to 40 thousand a year.
