I was born in the Pioneer Valley of Western
Mass and developed an interest in painting at a very early age.
For me, the New England area is an everlasting source of changing
images and vivid colors occurring twelve months of the year.
After working for many years as
an administrative assistant, my love for painting only increased.
I made the decision about 10 years ago to devote more of my
time to creating the wonderful scenes and landscapes that are
so much a part of my life. Through the medium of watercolor
I can create the remarkable, spontaneous mixture of colors that
nature allows us to witness.
I also love to do portraits. This
permits me to capture the unique and special moments in the
lives of my family and friends that leave everlasting memories.
My pleasure of painting the small “moments in life”
are endless.
My paintings are traditional reflections
of the world I love: home, children, the beauty of nature, the
New England landscape and the seacoast.
I have taken classes and workshops
with a number of well known artists, including Susan Tilton
Pecora, Joan Boryta, Tony Couch, Jack Flynn, Paul Leveille,
Tom Lynch, Linda Percoski, Nikolas Phakos, George Shedd and
others. I believe that learning from the styles and techniques
of other artists helps me to expand and grow as an artist in
my own right. I try to pass those lessons on to others through
my classes in my home studio.
My memberships include:
The Brush and Palette Art Assoc., Williamsburg, MA
The Deerfield Art Assoc., Deerfield, MA
The Holyoke Art League, Holyoke, MA
The Academic Art Assoc., Springfield, MA
My participation in juried shows
and exhibits has resulted in several awards.
My paintings are represented by
Arts Unlimited at the Village Commons in South Hadley, Lone
Starr Framing and Gallery in Northampton and Bittersweet: the
Secret Garden in Wells, ME . They are included in private and
corporate collections throughout New England and the Carolinas.
