Swamp Sanctuary
Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary was aquired in 1954 by The National Audubon Society. It was established to protect the largest remaining strand of ancient bald cypress left in North America and the wading birds that nest in their branches.

The entrance boardwalk leads you to the Nature Center. Inside is a small cafeteria offering snacks and sandwiches. Various exhibits are on display along with a 14 minute presentation with sights and sounds of a year in the swamp. |

The store is open from 9:30AM - 5:30PM. They have a very nice, large collection of nature guides and books for sale. Trail guide books are available for $2.00.
