I worked on the rear emblem panel and the passenger side inner top support today. I did a little bit of work on the trunk crossmember.
In order to properly and easily install the fuel tank mounting brackets I built a framework out of angle iron...

Using an old fuel tank I built this framework out of angle iron. It matches the outside shape, and the four mounting holes are properly located. The framework will allow me to get the brackets mounted, and I can reach through the middle of it easily. If I used a fuel tank I would have had to cut it up.
The underside of the sail panels (behind and under the wing windows) are coated in a light rust, most likely due to not having mutch protection from the start. You can see where I stopped removing the rust.
After I removed the rust I coated the inside with rust converting primer. Later I will paint this.
These are shots of the rear emblem panel. It is skewed because one side is lifted up so I can easily access the underside of the bottom lip.
This is the inside shot of the same area.
Turns out the rear emblem panel is in much better shape than I originally thought. There is only one location that sustained enough damage to break through the metal.I should be able to get this patched.
You can see how rough the rest of it is. With the work I did on it today I got the shape back nearly to where it needs to be.
Set down in place it looks much better than before.
This is the trunk decking support crossmember. The underside has some light rust. I will remove the pop rivets and clean up the rust. Some Evaporust and light sandpaper should do the trick here.
The topside is coated in two or three layers of paint, and you guessed it, more rust.
