The Gamecube is a clever piece of hardware itself, just over the size of half a Nintendo 64, the cube is closer to the size of the Game Boy! With a handle like that, carrying it to your friends house is not a problem at all. The Gamecube is just under the length of the Game Boy Color which makes it the smallest "biggest" games console in the world. Nintendo should be proud. Their little cube critter has hit the jackpot.
Compatible with the Game Boy Advance, the Gamecube can do many things. For example, if you want to place a bet in the game that you are playing and you don't want your friend to see it, you can place it in the screen of the Game Boy Advance. Also, the Game Boy Advance can be a 'mini games' machine for the Gamecube. With a 32-bit handheld, the mini games won't be that 'mini' anymore!
If you want faster Internet access, and network speed, buy the Nintendo Gamecube Broadband adapter to boost that online gaming. It has leaked out that Nintendo are making a website where you can log on with Gamecube and play games online, and is still in construction now, you never know if there is any data on it right now. Go and check at www.nintendonline.com. it normally redirects you to Nintendo's official web site. The Broadband Adaptor speeds up internet access on the Gamecube so that online gaming is much smoother.
The Gamecube medium will be a Mini-DVD which is compact and can store 1.5 gigabytes of data! That is more than enough Zelda 64s' on one DVD. This will be cheap to produce which means prices will be low in the shops too, attracting more customers. With DVD, sound and video will be much smoother, as it is in digital mode. Nintendo Gamecube will not be able to play DVD movies because:
1. Its an all gaming machine, not a media machine
2. The DVD slot is only for Mini-DVD's
But Matsushita (Panasonic), makers of the DVD player, are planning to release a media version of Nintendo Gamecube that can play DVD movies. Obviously, this will be more expensive to produce, and therefore a higher price to pay. So far, this will only be released in Japan, a US and UK date are still to be announced.
