Trained dogs for Sale.

Right now we do not have any trained dogs for sale. We are offering a puppy raising program, where we will house train and do basic obediance with your puppy, cost is $500.00 a month, and training is done on a daily basis. Depending on how much training you need your puppy to have will determine how long he/she should stay here.

Border Collie

Description:

The Border Collie is a highly intelligent, hard-working dog that responds quickly and eagerly to training. They are the world's premiere sheepdog unsurpassed in terms of patience, agility and stamina. The Border Collie thrive on games and is willing to please. The Border Collie is even tempered, but they need constant physical and mental activity for a well balanced dog. Excels in obedience competitions they are very agile, and have a well proportioned body of lean muscle. Borders can spend hours stalking sheep, cattle, goats, ducks, chickens, large ants or anything that congregates into a herd or flock. If they have insufficient activity they will find work to do, which could be herding your children.

Variety of colors; white should never predominate.

Two varieties; moderately long, and smooth; both are thick and straight.

Care and Exercise:

The Border Collie need daily brushing to remove dead hairs. Bathe when necessary. Check ears and coat regularly for ticks. The Border Collie needs extensive exercise and mental stimulation. An idle Border Collie will become badly behaved and maybe aggressive.

Your Border Collie will excel in sports like obedience, agility and sheepdog trials. Famous throughout the world for their tremendous intelligence and their desire to please they are always quick to learn new commands. Learning Rate: High

Very High, bores easily if left alone

Living Environment:

Rural setting with lots of work: a cattle ranch. This is not a breed for the couch potato or absentee owner as a Border Collie has boundless energy and a great desire to work.

History:

The Border Collie was developed from such breeds as the Bearded Collie, Harlequin, Bob-tailed Sheepdog and Smithfield. They were named for the Border counties of England and Scotland. Bred for stamina and brains, the Border Collie has the natural instinct to herd. It wasn't until the mid 1960s that the Kennel Club began to register the Border Collie.
