Training is the key to a happy,healthy, puppy

Clicker Training

Our German Shepherd puppys have been started in their training. Yes a small 6-8 week old puppy can learn to sit, down, and come, along with lots of tricks. The key to getting your puppy to learn is motivation. Food is the biggest motivator that I know of. I use the clicker method and highly suggest that you do also. Below is a link to purchase a great starter kit. This has a video and a book along with extra treats, and clickers. This is also a great way to start your agility training.

Agility Training

I begin training my puppies on the Agility equiptment. I will have a 6 month old puppy running full courses, they don't do jumps just poles on the ground. They know how to think about my comands and moving out and in as I ask. The link below will get you started in training your puppy. Read everything that you can on the sport this is just a place to start.

Toys

This is a subject that you will be the expert on in just a short amount of time. You should buy lots of toys for your puppy, he will want to chew on everything, so give him lots of things to chew on. Below is a link that will show you lots of toys to get, you will learn which ones your pup likes best just gets lots of them. I also like marrow bones that I get from my butcher.

Crate Training

I crate all my dogs, they love their crates. They know this is thier spot. They will house break quicker and not destroy your house and belongings when you are sleeping or at work. I recomend getting your crate from Super Walmart, they have great prices so that you can buy the age/size appropiate crate.
