Soccer and school were the two things young Carlos was passionate about, but all that changed after his friend Adam asked Carlos to take his place as the Green Turbo Ranger.
With the Dessert Thunder Turbo Zord at his command, Carlos helped his new Ranger teammates foil the evil plans of the Pirate Queen Divatox. After the Power Chamber was destroyed, Carlos headed into space with T.J., Cassie, and Ashley to rescue Zordon. There they came across Andros, the Red Space Ranger. Andros gave the Turbo teens new morphers and Carlos’ Ranger colors changed from green to black.
As the new Black Ranger, Carlos faced the forces of Dark Spector and Astronema, his right hand woman. During one battle, Astronema’s monster Lizwizard got a hold of Cassie. As Carlos jumped in to attack him, Lizwizard magically switched places with Cassie and Carlos ended up striking her down instead, hurting her badly. Carlos felt so guilty about what he had done, he quit the Rangers, but Adam helped Carlos get his confidence back and he rejoined the Rangers just in time to destroy Lizwizard.
Another one of Carlos’ big challenges came after he was forced to morph in a phone booth before going to face a monster. He didn’t realize the photo booth took pictures of him morphing. Later, a little girl named Silvy found the pictures and blackmailed Carlos into taking her to a carnival and then getting her a rock from the moon. Carlos lost his temper with her and told her he wasn’t her personal Ranger. He later apologized when he found out that the reason Silvy wanted the moon rock was to put on her brother’s grave. Silvy forked over the pictures and told Carlos she would keep his secret.
The last time Carlos was seen on Power Rangers was when he and the other Space Rangers helped the Galaxy Rangers defeat the Psycho Rangers once and for all.
Carlos is brave, and shows great leadership skills when he has to step in and lead the team. However, he is a tad hot headed, which at times has gotten him in trouble.
