A Friend In Need pt. 3

Poor Kim is losing her fight with Repellitor. But then Repellitor starts sneezing up a storm. He has caught Kimberly’s flu. He makes a hasty retreat back to the moon as Kimberly laughs at him.

Zordon, meanwhile is finally able to get through to the Power Rangers. But the Rangers are still locked in battle with the Plague Patrollers and can’t leave yet.

Back on Zedd’s palace, Zedd and Rita order Finster to give Repellitor something to take care of his flu. Finster first offers to give Repellitor a shot with this huge needle, but Repellitor is scared of needles, so he begs Finster for something else. Finster gives Repellitor these large pills called “Finster Tummy Tabs” and tells him to take two now and two before he goes to bed.

Bulk and Skull meanwhile, are at East Angle Grove Heights dressed in ridiculous costumes that only vaguely resemble Power Rangers costumes. It isn’t long before the two girls from the Juice Bar show up looking for the Power Rangers. Bulk and Skull jump out at them insisting they are the Power Rangers. “In living spandex.” The girls don’t fall for it, but Repellitor does. He materializes behind Bulk and Skull, ready to take the two “Rangers” on. The two girls flee in terror with Bulk and Skull right behind them.

Back on Edenoi, Dex summons forth his Electro Saber and fires a blast from it that blows up all three Cogwarts. The Plague Patrollers, meanwhile have decided that they have had enough of getting beat up by Earthlings. Two of the Patrollers jump on their horses and ride away. The third horse leaves without its rider. The third Patroller screams at Dex “Another day, Dex, when you’re without your colorful playmates.” Dex tells him to save his breath for his retreat. Then Dex powers down and for some reason, when he does, his gas mask some how gets removed. I guess now that the Plague Patrollers are gone, Edenoi’s air isn’t quite so toxic.

Back on the Spider Base, Dreagon is furious that Masked Rider has once again gotten away. Double Face informs his count that the multi-colored strangers came from another planet and when they leave, the Spider Base can follow them home. Dreagon says then they will destroy them.

Back on Zedd’s palace, Zedd and Rita are having fun watching Repellitor terrorize the four humans on Earth. They decide to add to the fun by making Repellitor grow.

Back on Edenoi, Dex, Ferrian, Donais, and Zarious say good-bye to their new friends. Dex says he can’t thank them enough for their courageous fighting on behalf of their planet. Billy tells him to keep them informed about their well being. Dex says “To the Power.” Tommy repeats the phrase and shakes Dex’s hand. Then all five Rangers teleport for home. Dex smiles and says “Until next time, Power Raners.” Neither Rangers or Rider are aware that Count Dreagon is tracking the Rangers back to Earth and that he is making plans to make trouble on their home planet.

The five returning Rangers meet up with Kimberly and the six of them call their Zords. They form the Thunder Megazord and the White Tigerzord in Warrior Mode. Repellitor manages to cause some damage to both Megazords with some fist work and green lasers that shoot out of his hands, but in the end a slice from each Megazord causes him to explode into oblivion. Another one of Zedd and Rita’s monsters bites the dust.

Later at the juice Bar, Bulk ans Skull are walking behind the two girls, who seem surprisingly upset that the real Power Rangers saved the day. They decide to ditch Bulk and Skull for more attractive male company that’s waiting for them over by the bar. Bulk makes Skull promise that if he ever comes up with another plan that has anything to do with the Power Rangers, Skull is to staple his mouth shut. Skull eagerly agrees to do so.

Back at the Command Center, Zordon welcomes back his space traveling proteges. Alpha says he’s glad to learn that King Lexian is all right and calls him a wise and noble leader. Tommy says Dex was pretty amazing too and Zordon adds that Lexian made a wise choice in bestowing the Masked Rider Powers on Dex. Billy is sad that the Rangers didn’t have more time to get to know the Edenoites, Dex especially. Zordon says that they may have another chance someday.

Back on Edenoi, in a mist filled chamber, Dex and Lexian, both dressed in white and gold robes, are talking. Lexian tells Dex that planet Earth is Dreagon’s next target and Dex will have to go there to defend it. Dex protests saying “I can’t just leave you.” Lexian tells his grandson that the spirit of his people will always be there to guide Dex and urges him to go before it’s too late. Dex treafully says “Grandfather, I will always love you.” And Lexian replies “And I, you, Dex.” Grandfather and grandson share a heart felt hug as the three part miniseries ends.

These episodes teamed up six of my favorite characters for the first, and sadly, only time.

The fight scenes were not so bad. The fight between Rocky, Tommy, and Dex was well choreographed so was the fight between Repellitor and the Megazord. The others were not so bad.

That part where Kimberly gave Repellitor her flu was hilarious. Ditto with the part where Bulk and Skull dressed up as Rangers to try and win those girls.

Dislikes

I didn’t like the way some footage was used over and over again. Some conversations between Gork, Dreagon, and Doubleface was just the same footage, different dialogue.

There were too many filler bits. A lot of the scenes that featured Rita and Zedd were talking were worthless (which is why I didn’t include them in my summery). They were basically “Earth will be ours” and “Oh how I hate Count Dreagon”.
