Before the planet Vagita was destroyed by the evil Frezza, the Sayin people who lived there sent a baby boy named Kakarot to the planet Earth to wipe out all of its intelligent life. But upon arriving on Earth, Kakarot revived a head injury that made him forget his mission. He was found by an old man named Gohan who raised him and gave him the name Goku.
Goku grew up innocent and full of goodness as well as extremely powerful. He used his powers to defend the Earth against those who would destroy it and to keep the mystical DragonBalls out of evil hands. Goku is the hero of all three DragonBall series. He is married to ChiChi and has two sons, Gohan and Goten.
In DBZ, Goku and the rest of the Z fighters defend the Earth from villains like the evil Sayins, Freeza, Cell, and Boo. He is the first to reach the level of Super Sayin. In DBGT, Goku is accidentally wished back to a kid (a bad move on Toei Animation's part.) and goes on a journey with Trunks and Pan to retrieve the black star DragonBalls. After that quest is complete, they have to save the Earth from Bebi and the seven evil dragons. Sadly Goku's life ended at the end of DBGT when he gave his life so that the damage evil Bebi did to the earth would be reversed.
Goku is one of my favorite DBZ characters because of his sense of honor, duty, family, leadership, and friendship. Also because he knows when its time to get serious and when to just kick back. And he can really kick evil's butt.
