Jason David Frank

Jason Frank was born on September 4th, 1973 in Covina, CA to Ray and Janice Frank. He had an older brother named Eric (who played Tommy’s brother David on Power Rangers Zeo) who sadly passed away on April 16th, 2001. In 1994 Jason married a woman named Shawna. They had three children together, two sons (Jacob and Hunter Sabastian,) and a daughter (Sky) before they divorced in 2001.

Jason recived his black belt at age 12 from the Red Dragon Karate School in Orange County CA. He is now a 5th degree black belt. He currently teaches at and owns the Rising Sun Karate Academy in both California and New Jersey. The style Jason teaches (and used in Power Rangers) is Toso Kune Do, a combination of all seven major styles of Karate.

Jason was 19 when he landed the role of Tommy on Power Rangers. In addition to playing arguably the most famous member of the super hero team, Jason has done guest appearances on Family Matters (as a gang member), Sweet Valley High (as A.J Morgan) Meego (as a karate teacher) and Undressed (as Carl). In addition to the two Power Rangers movies, Jason played a former child actor in the movie Groupies and had a role in the movie Burning Desire. He also appeared in the CD-Rom game Piper as Piper Windsong. Jason was suposed to star as Captian Vyancort in a series called Privateers” but that’s all I’ve heard about it. I don’t know anymore.

Here’s some other interesting facts about Jason, he likes to go parachuting and has a tattoo of a yin-yang symbol on his right arm. When working on the Red Ranger reunion episode “Forever Red” Jason shared a trailer with Christopher Khaymen Lee.

When asked what he felt about his fans Jason said “I am really flattered that still stand by me after all this time.”
