Things looked pretty bleak for the Earth when the evil Freeza and his father King Cold landed with destroying the planet on their agenda. Then from out of the blue a teenage Super Sayin arrived and destroyed them both.
The boy turns out to be from twenty years into the future. His name was Trunks and he was the son of Vagita and Bulma. He came to the past to warn Goku about the arrival of two killer androids that would spread terror and chaos wherever they went and all of the Z Fighters, except Gohan, would be killed in the first battle with the diabolical machines. Gohan would live for only thirteen more years and teach Trunks how to become a warrior before he too would be killed by the androids.
Trunks gave Goku some medicine that would save him from a deadly heart virus that he was supposed to get before the battle with the androids and left for home soon after. Three years later, he went back to help the Z Fighters destroy the evil Androids 17 & 18. But in the past, Trunks ran into several unpleasant surprises including the monster known as Cell.
To defeat Cell, Trunks trained in the hyperbolic time chamber with his father Vagita. He increased his power. He didn’t get to destroy Cell for good, but after Gohan obliterated the monster, Trunks went back home and took out Androids 17 & 18 and Cell in his own time. This is the last we see of Future Trunks in DBZ.
The reasons why Trunks is my favorite guy DBZ character is because he has a lot of bravery, determination, cool moves, and good looks. (Always a plus for guys.)
