The poems of Dorothy Parker are copyrighted by Dorothy Parker (and now her estate, I suppose). No copyright infringement is intended; I post these purely because I love them. 'Observation' can be found in 'Enough Rope', 'The Poetry and Short Stories of Dorothy Parker' and 'The Collected Dorothy Parker'; if you like what you read, I strongly suggest that you buy at least one of these books.
Observation (by Dorothy Parker)
If I don't drive around the park,
I'm pretty sure to make my mark.
If I'm in bed each night by ten,
I may get my looks back again.
If I abstain from fun and such,
I'll probably amount to much;
But I shall stay the way I am,
Because I do not give a damn.
