If you want to make your own Web page you have to like reading and want to learn. I learned everything I know on my own by surfing the web and reading on HTML.
My first homepage was created on 'angelfire' There are lots of others too. (Check out my links page to find more servers who offer free web space) I didn't need to have any HTML knowledge. All I had to do was choose the looks I wanted for my page with options they gave me, and type in what I wanted said on my page. It's the easiest way to start, however it's very limited on how your page will be displayed compared to knowing HTML.

If you want to have more control on making your own homepage, there are many HTML tutorials on the web. I found one I really liked and printed the whole tutorial and followed it all step by step.
