"Where do I save my files?"

When you save a file you need to save it somewhere where it will be easy to find when you want to open it again. Example: You wrote a poem and you want to save it...

- STEP 1 -
Click on 'Save As..." usually found under 'File' in most programs. The image below is what you should see, or something similar. Where it says 'Save in' Click on the little arrow to the right. You have a few options to choose from. C: is to save to your hard drive, A: is to save to a floppy disk. These letters may vary.

- STEP 2 -
Now below you should see something that says 'Save as Type'. Choose the type you want to save your file as. This is optional, you may want to leave it as is.

- STEP 3 -
To name the file, go where it says 'File Name' and type in the name of your file. Then click on 'Save'

- TIP -
Do the same when you save stuff on the web (Be sure to have a virus scanner) Also when you save programs, Applications or zip files on your computer, it's always a good idea to save it in the folder called 'My Downloads'. If you don't have one, create one. This way it's easy to find what you downloaded and after you install them or unzip them to the proper folder, you can delete the zip file or program you saved in the 'My Downloads' folder.
