Two design themes run throughout the house: religion and wealth. Tile work depicts the dogwood, symbolic of the cross ; and the clover, denoting the Trinity, is carved into woodwork throughout. Other Victorian hallmarks, such as the Library’s original built-in bookcases, and eleven chandeliers on the first and second floor, are original to the house.
