Belvedere
Lehigh Station, Pennsylvania

The Calhoun Mansion in Charleston, SC was the filming site of Belvedere...the Home of the Hazards.
The Calhoun Mansion was built in 1876 by George Williams who was a wealthy Southern merchant. This Victorian buliding cost $200,000 to build which was a very big price tag at the time. It is approximately 24,000 square feet, with 35 rooms, a 20 feet by 35 feet Music Room with a 45 foot skylight, 35 fireplaces and a stairwell that reaches 75 feet.

Two design themes run throughout the house: religion and wealth. Tile work depicts the dogwood, symbolic of the cross ; and the clover, denoting the Trinity, is carved into woodwork throughout. Other Victorian hallmarks, such as the Library’s original built-in bookcases, and eleven chandeliers on the first and second floor, are original to the house.
