| Billy Hazard,youngest son of William and Maude Hazard. Young Billy followed the footsteps of his brother George by attending West Point. He befriended his already acquainted friend Charles Main, just as Orry and George became friends. Billy, with his eyes on Charles cousin Ashton Main, realizes the fine qualities of the sweeter Brett Main, and marries her. He later becomes an engineer, and then a sharp shooter for the Union during the Civil War. |
