| Charles Main, the cousin of Orry Main. Orry suggested to Charles to serve at West Point just as he did to help save him from a lowly life which he was heading. One of the greatest trouble he got himself into was a duel with a person that never loses. With Orry's help, and at first disaproval, he wins. He is also the one who suggests to his best friend Billy Hazard to look towards Brett instead of Ashton. Charles falls in love with Agusta Barclay and they have a child. Charles serves as a Calvary officer in the west before the Civil War, but when it breaks out, he resigns and joins the Confederate Calvarly. |
