| George Hazard, son of William and Maude Hazard. George is the owner of Hazard Iron Works, the family business in Lehigh Station Pennsylvania. He befriends southern Orry Main in NYC as they travel to West Point to become soliders. George also saves Orry during the Mexican War, and invests in his Cotton Mill in South Carolina. George mets and marries Constance Flynn after the Mexican War, and has a daughter named Hope. Although George strongly dislikes the institution of slavery, he puts that behind him and the two continue being friends. During the Civil War, he takes up the position of General in the Union Army. He is later captured by the Confederate army, where Orry rescues him from Libby Prision. |
