| Grady, the coach man to James Huntoon, became an escaped slave due to Virgilia. On a visit by the Hazards to Mont Royal, Virgilia Hazard helps Grady escape to the north were she marries him. Together they live in a little shack, barely living at all. Grady is shot and killed during John Browns raid on Harpers Ferry. |
