In the Serbian part of the Jugoslavian
country, the pigeon friends
have a pigeon named "Makedonski Prevrtav". We were
able to get this
pigeon to West Germany during the last years and I
have one pair. This
pigeon is remarkable because the flying style is very
different from
other pigeons or Rollers. The name "Roller" for this
pigeon is not
right. A better name would be "nose dive pigeons".
These pigeons come in different colors.
The breeder in Jugoslavia gives each pigeon
a name. He trains his
pigeons more than five hours a day. At first, he opens
the door of the
loft, but the pigeons do not fly away. Then he calls
four or five
pigeons by their names. To this sign, these pigeons
fly into the sky.
Another way, he touches the pigeons with a little
cane and then the
pigeons fly out. In a few minutes they are small dots
in the sky and
make many somersaults in the sky.
