The Granular Volcano Group Numerical Results

Quiet and Stable Universal Standard Atmospheric Profile calculated by MFIX codes.

Altitude from 0 to 30 km, temperate standard atmospheric profile:

- Temperature Profile

- Pressure Profile

- Density Profile

- Dynamic Viscosity Profile

- Compute your own Standard U.S. Atmospheric Profile

Implementation in the MFIX codes by Sébastien Dartevelle, April 2002.

The codes can now calculate any atmospheric profile (polar, temperate and tropical) for any relative humidity between sea level (0 km) and 52 km of altitude.

Atmospheric Temperature Profile in K

Notice that the troposphere is between 0 km to 11 km (temperature decreases), the tropopause is between 11 km to 19 km (temperature remains constant), the stratosphere is over 19 km (temperature increases).

Atmospheric Viscosity  Profile in Pa s (kg/m s)

Notice that the viscosity follows the temperature profile.
