Planet Eclipse Vertical Regulator Mount
The planet eclipse vert reg mount comes in two flavors, shocker and impulse. Since the impulse has a different maxflow reg design, the mount must be slightly different. The purpose of this accessory is to take a stock bottom line maxflow, and mount it, you guessed it, vertically. What this does for you is three things; it allows you to have a foregrip, and also lets you get rid of the ridiculous manifold (the part you screw your tank into), which requires you to use the "o-ring trick" and back off your reg each time. The third thing it does for you is allows you to use cradle style drop forwards, such as the Drop Zone II. Installation is easy, the hardest part being the step in which you cut the macro line to length for the connection between the mount and the reg. Also, in case you don't already know, removing the maxflow from the manifold only requires you to take the two Allen screws off of the bottom of the cradle, then pulling it apart. Although the fittings look threaded, they are only threaded on one end, the other had o-rings. Also, removing the elbows from the maxflow requires quite a bit of force, have your cheater bar ready. The only drawback to this accessory is once mounted, it makes grip frame removal difficult, although you can take it off each time, I chose not to, just be sure to have an Allen key that fits your grip frame screw that is a standalone key, not one in those connected sets, it is a tight spot to get into. The other drawback is the maxflow gauge is mildly uncomfortable to grip, but not us much as you might think. All in all, its a great investment if you weren't able to get the vertical maxflow option when you purchased your impulse or shocker, and makes a usable forgrip that allows use of cradle style drop forwards.
