In early October, Kale Leifer's mom came up to me and my brother with an idea. she wanted to start a BMX club, to give the kids in this town who ride, a chace to get to go to other skateparks, and hang out once a week with other riders to talk about whatever was on their minds, BMX related or not. The club goes on day trips once a month to other Island parks, and mainland parks. There has also been talk of going to millenium park for a trip, or even Nelson. The club is $15 to join, and $5 for each day trip, depending on where we go. (obviously its gonna cost a bit more if we leave the island) The club is hoping to get a grant right now from the government which would pay for the van rentals and what not for our trips to get carried out, so that would be awesome if that happened. * I haven't updated this in a while, but the club has gotten the grant, and we are currently in the process of having shirts and maybe hoodies made up.
