FAQ's

Q: What is E.V.P?

A: Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) is one of the most compelling mysteries of this field. It is the presence of voices on recorded media that in many cases weren't audible at the time of recording.

Q: Is there a membership fee for CKPRS members?

A: No, we do not charge for membership, however we do require members to pay for their own equipment, travel, and lodging.

Q: What type of equipment is used by the CKPRS team to investigate paranormal activity?

A: CKPRS uses state of the art technology and advanced electronics such as electromagnetic field meters (EMF), radiation meters (Geiger counter), digital video, digital & standard 35mm photography, digital & analog audio for (EVPs), 0-lux night vision (IR Technology) to see in total darkness, and much more that we bring to an investigation to try to not only find tangible evidence of any anomalies, but to try to find answers to why these anomalies are occurring. The CKPRS team will not use or put relevance in dowsing rods, Ouija boards, or Seances. We use strict scientific methods and equipment to either PROVE or DISPROVE any findings.

Q: What is the CKPRS fee to Investigate?

A: Our investigations and advice are always FREE of charge to everyone! We do not charge as many groups do.We are always willing to help anyone and everyone that claims to have paranormal claims of ghosts, hauntings , etc., We NEVER charge a fee and we are totally CONFIDENTIAL. Beware of paranormal groups out there that charge for their services!

Q: Can I call and talk to someone about doing an investigation?

A: We ask that you fill out our Investigation Request form here on the website. When you do, post your phone number in that message, and one of our team members will contact you.

Q: Do you believe in provoking spirits?

A: CKPRS has mixed feelings on this subject. Do we believe newer, less experienced groups should provoke or taunt spirits? Absolutely NOT! Just because some groups on television are doing it, it does not mean you should. You should be careful what you ask for because you might just get it. If you try to contact a spirit in a negative, then you will probably get a negative response. In some cases you could become injured or have a spirit attach themselves to someone in the group.

BUT there are some circumstances experienced groups may choose this provoking method to prove that a negative entity exists. In this case CKPRS will follow through and get the home/business owner the right kind of assistance for their given situation.

Q: How much do you get paid for this?

A: Absolutely nothing . All members are volunteers who generously give their time and support this research. We NEVER charge a fee to those individuals who allow us access to their property.

Q:I reside outside of Cynthiana, Kentucky. What areas do you cover?

A: CKPRS covers the entire region of Kentucky. If we find we are not able to take your case due to scheduling, please rest assure we will refer your case to a reputable team who will assist you. Cases involving children are handled immediately. If you reside outside Kentucky, your case will be referred to a team in your state.

Q: Why do you not use psychics on the team?

A: CKPRS is a strictly scientific-minded team. This means that all the information that we gather MUST be either tangible evidence or have some relevance to fact. We have nothing against psychics, mediums, or sensitives, and we will gladly work with them, but we can not go by their feelings or visions to prove or disprove an event or claim of the paranormal, ghosts, hauntings, etc. All claims must be documented either on video, audio, and even on a physical level at times.

Q: Do you cleanse a location of spirits?

A: CKPRS does not attempt to cleanse a location of spirits, or claim to do so. CKPRS's job is to find a logical explanation for the happenings and second, to gather evidence to support a haunting classification. Rest assured CKPRS does have the contacts our clients need should this be requested.

Q: What can I expect during an investigation?

· A team of 4 to 12 investigators depending on the size of the location and the events that have been reported by witnesses. Each case is different.

· 95% of our equipment is handheld, ranging from Electromagnetic Field Meters, Voice Recorders, and Infrared Camcorders. There is nothing that is dangerous to you or your home. Most of it is equipment that you would recognize on sight such as cameras, video cameras, etc.

· Most of our investigations last approximately 3 hours. Follow up investigations may be longer or shorter depending on each cases needs.

· We ask that just the residents of the home be in attendance and that no guests be invited unless we have discussed it with you prior to the investigation.

· We will turn all the lights off and shut off as many electrical appliances as you allow. No TV's or Radios can be on because they will interfere with the audio and video equipment. Our infrared cameras need total darkness.

· There can be no smoking inside or candles lit because that too can give us faulty readings and also interfere with our sense of smell.

· If you would like an investigator to sit with you through out the investigation and explain things to you as they happen please let us know.

· You will receive a copy of all positive evidence collected including video, audio, digital photos and 35mm photos. You will also receive a formal report after each visit to your home. It takes about 2-3 weeks to review all the evidence and compile this report.

Q: How exactly does a CKPRS investigation work?

Step 1 Investigation Request

The first step in requesting an investigation is through email or phone call. Depending on our caseload the client can expect to have their application reviewed and hear from us within one week.

Rest assured that any personal information that the client provide to the team will be completely confidential. No names, towns, or addresses will be shared with anyone but members of the team unless CKPRS receives explicit, written consent from the party requesting an investigation, to share specified details on our website.

Step 2 Interview

Following the review of the clients application, they will be contacted by a member of CKPRS to discuss aspects of their case in more detail. It's preferable to have members of our team do a full walk through tour of the location as part of the interview process, PRIOR to the actual investigation. This will give the team more time to digest information, research history of the location if possible, and think ahead about the most effective use and placement of equipment.

Step 3 Investigation

During investigations it is optimal to have as few contaminants as possible on the location . In turn, making arrangements for children, pets, and family members is the best scenario if it can be done. It's extremely important for members of the team to know who is on location and exactly where they are at all times so that they have the most valid findings possible.

Step 4 Analysis of Findings

Following the on location investigation, members of the CKPRS team will review all of the data collected and prepare our findings for presentation.

Step 5 Sharing the Findings

During this phase of an investigation, members of the CKPRS team will share any audio or video findings, discuss personal experiences, and share any possible nonparanormal answers for what has been experienced on the location that was investigated.
