2 Memory Cards- The Memory Card has become one
of the most important hardware devices
for today's console systems. The era of
storing saved games on the game
cartridges or on the system's internal
RAM is long gone. In today's world,
Memory Cards have become the norm for
saving game data, so they've become
must-own items for any console-owning
creature.
N64 Memory Cards - If you've read our past
reviews of memory paks, you know that
we're not all that hot on third-party
developed alternatives to Nintendo's
Controller Pak. Data corruption and
memory loss definitely occur more
frequently in many of the non-Nintendo
paks out there, so we were quite happy
when InterAct confidently sent us their
flagship Performance brand Memory Card
for review. While it holds the same
amount of data as Nintendo's pak, the 123
page Memory Card is almost twice as large
(physically) as a Nintendo Controller
Pak. Its main attraction is definitely
its low price of only $9.99 (or even
less, if you buy the TremorPak Plus
bundle).

Picture DreamCast Memory Card
- Sega Dreamcast's
Visual Memory Unit (VMU) is an 128K
memory card with a built-in LCD screen
that plugs into the control pad for use
with Dreamcast games as a memory device
or game-enhancing peripheral. When
plugged into the Dreamcast, the LCD
screen can be seen through the window of
a Dreamcast controller, and can be used
for secretive game options
sometimes you might not want the other
player(s) to know what you've got
cooking. For example, the screen can be
used for play selection in a football
game or a line-changing in a hockey
title.
