Note for April 5, 04: - Went with Colin S. Left the parking lot at 1:00P.M. and hiked along the canal to the base. Up to treeline there was huge snow patches knee to waist deep. 3/4 of the time under treeline was spent postholing up snow. Once above treeline the route is windblown clear. We followed the ridge and made it to the summit at 5:00P.M. Kinda slow but it was a nice clear day out and we took our time. From the summit we could see Assiniboine, Temple, Joffre, and Mt. Ball. The summit point on the right was snowy on the left hand ridge. We climbed around on the right summit block and relaxed in the sun and started descending at 6:30. We made it back to the car at 8:00PM.

Scrambling up the ridge. The summit has two points. The point on the left can be hiked up, while the second point on the right is exposed.

Mount Temple, Pilot and Brett from the summit.
|
This is the only real scrambling all day. We played around on this block most of the time at the summit.
|
Me climbing around. It was really loose here and I knocked down two basketball sized bolders looking for solid holds.
