Play starts when the referee spikes the ball on the ground. Then the players from both teams fight for it. Once you have possession you have two options: 1 you can run toward your goal and risk being tackled and lose possession of the ball. 2 you can take a step away from your goal in which case you cannot be tackled but you must pass the ball either by kicking it to a teammate or punching it to a teammate. The teammate must catch the ball in the air.
